Parasites And Lyme Disease

I have talked to a lot of people who have asked “do I have parasites” or said “I don’t have parasites“. I was one of those who said “I don’t have any parasites, just Lyme“. Boy was I wrong, I ended up of having two different types of intestinal worms, liver flukes and probably other things I could not see with the human eye.

Parasites can come in many forms and all can do different harm to the human body. Some parasites can be fatal or chronic but some can be treated and cured. Anyone can get infected with a parasite anywhere in the world and never know it. You can get a parasite from ingesting it in food or water, breathing it in, through skin contact and more. Even a scratch from a house cat can give you all kinds of different things such as Bartonella or Hookworms.

If you have Lyme disease or any other disease and a low immune system or no immune system then I highly recommend avoiding eating Sushi or undercooked fish or meat. That is a good way to get a tapeworm or other worms that can do damage to your body. Those intestinal worms can help keep you from healing properly and make you depressed even more.

**There is a ton of information on parasites but I am covering some basics because my brain cannot handle finding all the information or writing it, so speak to your doctor or search the internet for more information.

What Do Parasites Have To Do With Your Lyme Disease

I have heard from numerous LLMDs and other experts that in order to start treating and healing your Lyme disease you must first try to heal your tick-borne diseases (coinfections) and parasites first. It is said that 90% of people in the world have some form of a parasite. So it is extremely likely this means you.

For intestinal worms I recommend doing a MetaMetrix stool sample from your doctor or you can do it at home and mail it in. Have you notice anything funny looking in your toilet when you go to the bathroom? Do you have any red marks on your skin that don’t seem to go away? Does your skin itch a lot? These can all be signs of parasites but there are many more signs.

You can get all sorts of nasty critter from vacations in places like Mexico, Africa or anywhere in the world but especially countries with poor sanitation. Parasites can live within the intestines for years without causing any symptoms.

Signs and Symptoms:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Gas or bloating
  • Dysentery (loose stools containing blood and mucus)
  • Rash or itching around the rectum or vulva
  • Rash or Itching
  • Fevers
  • Stomach pain or tenderness
  • Feeling tired
  • Weight loss
  • Passing a worm in your stool
  • Depression
  • Nightmares
  • Meningitis
  • And the list goes on……..
Getting a parasite is almost unavoidable but you can help prevent getting them. Here are some the ways you can get parasites and you can see why 90% of us have them:
  • Swimming in ponds, lakes and even swimming pools
  • Eating raw fish (Sushi) and undercooked fish
  • Getting your feet or hands in soil
  • Breathing in dust
  • Skin contact
  • Insect bites
  • Animal scratches or bites
  • Etc….

Treatment

There are different prescriptions for each parasite so I cannot name one that will work in your case. For my intestinal worms and liver flukes I took Ivermectin which I have posted before and it seemed to kill them all. I had no side effects so I would recommend it. It is really gross to think about it and you may be embarrassed to bring it up with your doctor but it is something you don’t want to let sit for years.

This is fascinating! If I had a parasite it would let me gain weight! I have never had anything that caused weight loss.

I believe there are parasites that cause weight gain, also meds are a big factor in weight gain.

Parasites only cause weight loss in people that do not have access to enough food. A belly full of worms can actually make you look fat. Unfortunately they will also make you eat excessive CRAP [simple carbs] and steal all the nutrients you really need leaving you sick & exhausted.

have you heard of this? https://humaworm.com/ordernow.0.html.0.html
would a standard stool test from a doctor rule out parasites are is that as useless as the elisa test?

Yeah humaworm is good but it will only kill certain worms. It is a natural parasite killer versus Ivermectin. You can use grapefruit seed extract, artemisinin for some worms also. I just wanted a kill all solution.

I think a standard stool test should be able to find eggs, larvae and worms but a MetaMettrix will also tell you what your body may be immune too like garlic, cats claw…. you get a thick packet of information it’s pretty cool.

So if you used Ivermectin- was it prescribed or did you just buy the horse strength from Amazon?
I’ve done a parasite cleanse naturally, but it takes soooo long and you don’t necessarily get all the parasites at the various stages of their life cycles so you have to assume that they will grow back again.
I’m very interested in trying this because the natural route is so cumbersome. I’ve heard horror stories of deworming animals however, and like, seeing worms crawling out of orifices or being regurgitated and that scares the crap outta me!

Contamination seems inevitable, especially if you are in a relationship with someone who isn’t willing to do a cleanse with you. Anyways, I’ve reconciled myself to the fact that I will simply have to do a yr to semi-annual parasite cleanse for the rest of my life to maintain health. Its about that time again!

It was prescribed by my LLMD and I took a pretty high-dose I believe for a month on and off pulsing to kill the parasites and eggs. So far so good. It killed 2 types of worms and liver flukes. I recommend it. Good luck.

HI!!! I am really excited about your blog, while of course sorry for your health issues. I was wondering how many stool tests did you send before they came back positive? Are stool tests the way your LLMD found the worms and flukes? Could the tick have given you the flukes/worms or do you think it came later from a weakened immune system? Thanks so much for any assistance.

The LLMD will do a stool parasite test and there’s a another test to tell what kind of parasite or what your body is immune too like cilantro or oregano oil to treat the parasites. I was told everyone has some sort of parasites so they thought that’s what was causing my IBS-D. I took ivermectin and saw the worms and flukes in the toilet so I know the treatment worked. It’s worth it to treat for them everyone has swallowed parasites somewhere. I believe I got mine in Mexico drinking the fruit drinks with water and eating their food.

I have used the equine stuff for years; same formula, way cheaper, just must make sure to dial the right weight for patient. Don’t count on any human lab tests as they will tell you they DO NOT test for worms that come from animals[hookworm, tapeworm, ascarids, strongyles, flukes etc]. I sent in sample with round worm in it to hospital; came back negative! A vets office might let u use microscope if you r friends with them. During LYME treatment I had live red cell analysis at 2000-4000X magnified[along with a look at spit & urine] and there were ROUNDWORMS,EGGS and FLUKES in all three! Ivermectin, cloves[kills eggs] & Rife took care of this. Also worm your dogs, cats, horses, chickens etc often or you will be reinfected. Tapeworm eggs are in flea saliva and my cat’s fur was falling out till I wormed her [droncit/prazenquantel] . Vet wanted her on immune system destroying expensive cortisone but her coat is lush at 18 years old as long as I continue to worm her & use flea repellant.

My LLMD had me do a stool test early on to check for parasites…I had itchy skin, odd red marks, all the signs… but it came back negative. Yet, after starting coffee enemas I am consistently eliminating ropeworms and all sorts of other odd worm looking things, including what I believe to be liver flukes. Ugh and ick. I also tested negative for all confections tested by Igenex (though I’m triple positive for Lyme), yet I have so many symptoms of them. Goes to show you testing can be a waste of time and money. I tried doing Humaworm but I don’t think it was enough, going to look into Ivermectin..I really do feel parasites are a huge piece of the chronic Lyme puzzle..thanks for posting!

Sounds familiar liver flukes look sort of like a flat tadpole. I highly recommend ivermectin. I just took a second dose recently. Didn’t see any more parasites this time. My gut feels better also. You still may have the confections so keep treating for them. If you have all the symptoms, stretch marks, rashes they still could be doing damage. Mine still won’t go away after treating for 5-6 years now. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

Hi–I’m just curious. If yours didn’t go away after treating for 5-6 years why do you recommend Ivermectin? Thanks

      • 49er Bryan February 8, 2016 at 12:48 pm #

I recommend ivermectin for stomach parasites not for the Lyme. It will kill off a lot of parasites you never thought you had.
